The PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central (venous) Catheter) line allows the patient to administer their own dose of drugs using a special pump (lower centre). Cancer chemotherapy,the treatment of cancer with drugs,attempts to destroy tumours by damaging their DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and interfering with tumour cell replication.
