MODEL RELEASED. Breast cancer drug pump. Nurse assists a woman patient suffering from breast cancer to fit a portable drug pump. This chemo- therapy pump is worn 24 hours a day,for 4 months,to administer cancer-killing drugs. It is strapped around the waist, and delivers a measured drugs dose through a tube into a vein near the shoulder. By administering drugs continuously, the device can give a dose five times stronger without side- effects. The added drugs dose has been shown to combat breast cancer more successfully, and may prevent the need for breast surgery. The pump allows the patient to play sports.
