Surgery monitor. This monitor displays the vital signs of a patient during an operation. The different traces show the heartbeat, various blood pressures, and oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood. The numbers include the heart rate (64 beats per minute) and the arterial blood pressure (90/59 mmHg). A patient's vital signs are monitored throughout an operation by an anaesthetist to ensure the patient is comfortable and that blood is flowing correctly around the body. If any of the vital signs reach dangerous levels,or if the patient stops breathing,an alarm will sound | |
