MODEL RELEASED. Home dialysis. Man using home dialysis equipment. This is Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD). The dialysis fluid (upper right) enters the body cavity through a catheter which passes through the abdominal wall. Waste fluid then passes out again,into a waste bag (bottom left). The trolley is set up with clean fluids and equipment to ensure sterile conditions throughout the treatment. Dialysis is a technique which removes waste products from the blood and excess fluid from the body as a treatment for kidney failure.
