Burst blister. Burst blisters on a pair of heels, caused by poorly fitting walking boots. A blister is a collection of fluid beneath the outer layer of skin. The most common causes are burns and friction. These blisters are an example of the latter. Blisters are best left to heal on their own. They should not be deliberately burst as this can lead to infection of the underlying damaged tissue | |
