Tinea cruris (or jock itch) is a highly contagious skin condition. It can be spread by direct contact or through infected materials. Treatment is with antifungal drugs taken orally,or creams and dusting powders applied locally. Such a course may have to be continued for many months to ensure the fungus is completely eradicated.
