During psoriasis,new skin cells are produced about ten times faster than normal. Other sites of the body commonly affected include the elbows,forearms,scalp and the legs. The cause of psoriasis is unknown,although it is one of the commonest skin diseases. The disorder often runs in families and may be brought on by anxiety.
