A chronic skin disease (one of the commonest skin diseases in the U.K.),psoriasis appears as itchy,scaly red patches on the elbows,forearms,knees,legs,scalp,& other parts of the body. The cause is unknown,although the disease often runs in families & may be brought on by anxiety: its onset is most common in childhood or adolescence,and may be associated with arthritis.
