Benign lesion in the ileum, pill camera view. The lesion is reducing the width of the ileum, the last part of the small intestine. This may cause abdominal pain and problems in digesting food. Symptoms such as this can be caused by a variety of conditions, and require prompt diagnosis to rule out cancer. In this case a pill camera was swallowed. This pill-sized camera returns live pictures from the digestive tract as it passes through. Any abnormalities such as this can then be further examined. This lesion was removed surgically, but later analysis found it to be a benign growth | |
