Persistent reflux of urine causes repeated kidney infection by bacteria. Pus (yellow streaks & nodules) builds up in the kidneys. Symptoms of acute pyelonephritis include back pain,fever & weight loss; in chronic disease the kidneys become small & scarred,& kidney failure may develop. Treatment is with antibiotics | |
