| Jaundiced eye. Close up of a jaundiced eye in a man with secondary (metastatic) liver cancer. The cornea of the eye (usually white) is tinged with yellow pigment. The surrounding skin is also yellow. Jaundice is caused by accumulation of the yellow-brown pigment bilirubin in the blood. In this case the jaundice may be caused by a tumour in the liver obstructing the gall bladder or bile duct. Obstructive jaundice is associated with dark urine & pale faeces. Symptoms of liver cancer include weight loss,lethargy & oedema. Treatment may include radiotherapy and/or surgical removal of the tumour | |
