Erosive gastritis. Gross clinical specimen of tissue from a stomach in erosive gastritis. This is a severe form of gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) where the stomach lining is eroded. This can lead to bleeding and perforation of the wall of the stomach. Long-term (chronic) gastritis is associated with smoking and alcoholism. Symptoms include pain,nausea and vomiting.
