The thigh-bone (femur) is yellow at lower left,and forms a joint with the pelvis; the sacrum of the pelvis is coloured brown (lower right). At top left is part of the large intestine (colon,red) which leads into the rectum (green). The rectum appears narrowed and misshapen due to cancer. The most common cancer of the rectum is adenocarcinoma forming ulcer-like lesions. Treatment usually involves surgery.
