The lymphatic system drains fluid from body tissues back into the bloodstream,and also helps fight infection. Lymphoma causes a swelling of lymph nodes,usually in the neck and groin areas. The cancer varies in malignancy,but generally spreads through the lymphatic system,impairing the body's defences against infection. Symptoms can range from headaches to fever and skin ulceration,as here. After the cancer is established,most patients die from opportunistic infections
