T-cell lymphoma. Red tumour seen on the skin of a 79 year-old patient due to a T-cell lymphoma (also known as a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma). This is a rare cancer of the blood's T-cells,a type of white blood cell which play a role in the body's immune response system. T-cells are found in the lymph nodes and cancer results in the swelling of lymph nodes in the neck or groin. Once the cancer spreads, many other organs are effected leading to symptoms ranging from headache to skin ulceration. The usual treatment is a combination of anticancer drugs and radiotherapy | |
