The syringe is partly filled with blood. The blood will be used for tissue typing,because the patient may need to receive a bone marrow transplant. The patient has already received anticancer treatment,with subsequent loss of her hair. Hodgkin's disease is a rare cancer in the lymphoid tissue (lymph nodes and spleen).
