Clubbed fingers. Clubbing (acropachy) of fingers due to lung cancer. The fingertips are bulbous, with unusually curved and rounded fingernails. Clubbing affects the fingers and the toes. It often occurs as a symptom of other disorders, such as kidney failure and lung disorders such as lung cancer. Bowel disease and some heart disorders may also cause clubbing. Most of these conditions are associated with a decrease in oxygen levels in the blood. Treatment is aimed at curing the underlying problem. In rare cases, clubbed fingers may be an inherited trait, and not related to any specific illness | |
