Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of arthritis (inflammation of the joints) affecting the fingers,knees,wrists,feet,ankles,hips and shoulders. It is an autoimmune disorder,where the body's own defence system attacks tissues. The degree of severity varies considerably. Rheumatoid arthritis is diagnosed by a blood test that reveals the presence of the rheumatoid factor and by X-rays that show typical erosion of the joints
