Norwalk virus. Transmission electron micrograph of the Norwalk virus, originally isolated from a school outbreak in Norwalk,Connecticut,USA in 1968. The virus is associated with diarrhoea and vomiting outbreaks among humans and no equivalent animal strains have been found to date.
