MODEL RELEASED. Professor Graham Richards, head of the Centre for Drug Discovery at Oxford University in England, with the cancer research screen saver he has helped develop. It can be downloaded free from the internet and run on most personal computers. It tests millions of small molecules, such as the one seen on screen here,to see if they bind to one of several target proteins. The proteins are all involved in promoting cancer growth. If a molecule is found which binds to a target protein, the details are sent back to the researchers using the internet. The project has been developed jointly by Oxford University and the USA-based company United Devices | |
