Jean Pecquet (1622-1674),French anatomist. Pecquet initially studied classics,before graduating in medicine in 1652. He conducted various anatomical experiments,including one on a dog during which he discovered the thoracic duct,the major efferent lymph duct into which lymph drains from the peripheral lymph nodes.
