Rob McNaught (born 1956). Silhouette of the British-Australian astronomer photographing Comet McNaught (C/2006 P1),the brightest comet for 40 years,which he discovered in August 2006. The tail of the comet,consisting of gas and dust,can be seen across the sky. McNaught works at the research school of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University.
