| James Whitbread Lee Glaisher (1848-1928),British mathematician. Glaisher spent his career lecturing at Cambridge University. He was also a prolific author,writing over 400 articles on astronomy,special functions,numerical tables and number theory. He served as president of the London Mathematical Society from 1877-86,and of the Royal Astronomical Society twice,in 1886-88 and 1901-03.
