| Prof. Michael Green (born 1946),English theoret- ical physicist & co-author of superstring theory. Green,seen in his office at Queen Mary College,University of London,developed superstring theory from 1979 in collaboration with John Schwarz of Caltech in the US; publication of their ideas in 1984 led to intense excitement in the theoretical physics community. Superstring theory is a "theory of everything" (or TOE) which includes gravity as well as the other fundamental forces. The theory states that fundamental particles (quarks,electr- ons) are not points of energy/matter,but result instead from the vibrations of miniscule "string- like" entities.
