Bernhard Edmaier. German landscape photographer Bernhard Edmaier shooting aerial images of Djibouti,Africa,from inside a flying helicopter. Edmaier was born in 1957 near Munich,and studied building and construction technology,then geology. After completing a course to become a qualified photographer,Edmaier combined his photographic skills with his knowledge and love of geology. Active areas of the Earth,such as volcanoes,erosion patterns and glaciers such as this one are captured from a variety of angles and altitudes. The majority of the work is aerial photography,for which a helicopter is usually used.
