Einstein's patent. Swiss patent for a new design for a refrigerator submitted in 1928 by the German-Swiss physicist Albert Einstein (1879-1955) and Leo Szilard. Einstein was a Technical Officer in the Swiss Patent Office from 1902 to 1909. In 1905 he published papers on the photoelectric effect (the liberation of electrons from a substance exposed to electromagnetic radiation),Brownian motion (the random movement of suspended particles) and the special theory of relativity.
