Albert Einstein (1879-1955),German-Swiss-American theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate. He was educated at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology,and first worked as a patent clerk. In his leisure time he studied physics,and in 1905 published 3 papers that would lead to his 1921 Nobel Prize: calculations on Brownian motion,the photoelectric effect and special relativity. In 1915 he published his General Theory of Relativity,explaining gravity as a distortion of space-time by a mass. In 1933 he moved to America,working on the Manhattan Project in WW2.
