Sydney Brenner,South African-British molecular biologist,born March 13th 1927,lecturing at the Medical Research Council's (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology Cambridge,UK. Brenner rapidly gained qualifications in both medicine & biology and began research in molecular biology at Cambridge. Since 1963 he has been making an in- depth study of the nematode worm Caenorhabditis elegans.
