The foods are (clockwise from top left corner): turmeric,broccoli,bitter gourd,prawns,cinnamon,bay leaves,fenugreek and cloves. Diabetes is a potentially fatal metabolic disorder,causing excessive thirst and the production of large quantities of urine. It is caused by a lack of the hormone insulin which is responsible for regulating the amount of sugar in the blood.
