MODEL RELEASED. Cell research. A researcher separating different strains of cells in a sample using an autoMACS (automated magnetic cell sorting and separation) machine. The solution on the right (dark red) contains the unwanted cells. The sample on the left (small tube) contains the strain of cells to be studied. The solution had previously had a marker added to it that only attached itself to a certain strain of cells. The marker consists of electromagnetic balls joined to antibodies.
