DNA biochip analysis. Researcher observing the results of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) biochip analysis on the computer. Biochips are used for cheap and rapid simultaneous analyses of DNA. They work by holding tiny dots of different piece of DNA ,designed to bind to a specific gene on the DNA of the test sample. The biochip is then scanned by a laser, which highlights the dots where a reaction has taken place. This indicates which genes are present in the sample. Photographed at Biomerieux,France | |
