MODEL RELEASED. Human genome research. Technician removing frozen cell lines from cryostorage for the human genome project. The cells contain human DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid),and are stored in liquid nitrogen (at -196 degrees Celsius). DNA is the substance which controls every characteristic of an organism. The human genome project aims to find the base sequence of all the human genes, allowing for improved drug design and a greater understanding of genetic diseases.
