Chichanchob (little holes),part of the Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Yucatan,Mexico. This structure is so called because of the small holes on the crest of the roof. It is also known as the Red House. Chichanchob was built between AD 600-900 and the stone frieze at the top of the structure contain images of Chaac,the rain god. The Maya were Native American people,originating in Yucatan around 2600 BC. They developed astronomy,calendrical systems and hieroglyphic writing from the ideas of earlier civilizations.
