Oil pollution clean-up. Workers cleaning up a beach polluted by an oil slick. The tanker (at centre left) is spraying water onto the sand. The water will wash the oil into a collection trench (from far left to far right) from which it can be sucked into another tanker and taken to a central collection point for proper disposal. The oil seen here came from a slick which originated in a spill of about 70,000 tonnes of light crude oil from the oil tanker Sea Empress off the coast of Milford Haven,Wales,in February 1996.
