Millennium Dome. Aerial image of the Millennium or Greenwich Dome (white) in London,England. North is at top. The Dome,on the River Thames,is the largest dome in the world at over 300 metres in diameter. In the year 2000 it will hold a large exhibition to celebrate the millennium. Bow Creek joins the Thames at centre and part of the Royal Victoria Dock (dark blue) is to the East. Gas- storing gasometers (cylinders) are at upper left,while the area called Canning Town is at upper right.
