Mount Assiniboine. Sun lighting the tops of Mount Assiniboine (centre right,in cloud) and Sunburst Peak (centre left). Mount Assiniboine forms a natural border between Banff National Park and Assiniboine Provincial Park in Canada's Rocky Mountains. The mountain was named in 1885 after the Stoney Indians or Assiniboines who were the original inhabitants of the area. Mount Assiniboine is 3618 metres high.
