Cave painting: Kolo 2. Three figures are seen, apparently lying beneath a heavy bar,in this stylized African cave painting. Found at Kondusi by the Leakey family of anthropologists, they are called "Kolo-type figures" for their distinctive bushy headdress. They are thought to be slaves or warriors, with ornamental "tails". This Kolo 2 group of figures occurs some 400 metres from another almost identical Kolo 1 group of three figures (see E448/033). In both cases one figure wears stylized plumes on his headdress, but this group appears captured or killed beneath the bar. Paintings from this site may date 25,000 years BP.
