Sea defences. Beneath an overcast sky,sea defences consisting of wooden bulwarks receive a pounding by waves. Sea defences are only a localised solution to the problem of land erosion,as the sediment removed from one beach is often carried by sea currents and deposited on another. Therefore to build sea defences in one location may hasten the erosion at another. Photographed between Sea Palling and Happisburg in Norfolk,Britain. The bulwarks were built in 1959 | |
