Hurricane damage. Road on South Hutchinson Island,USA,flooded by a storm surge created by Hurricane Frances. Hurricane Frances hit land at Fort Pierce,just north of South Hutchinson Island,on 4 September 2004. At the time it was classified as a category 2 hurricane,with winds of between 154 and 177 kilometres per hour (kph) and was moving very slowly (between 8 and 16 kph).
