Mountain cloud forming over a coastal mountain in the Arctic summer. This cloud is formed due to moist sea air rising to high altitudes when it meets the mountain. The water vapour condenses in the cold temperatures at these altitudes, forming orographic clouds. The resulting rain supports life in this otherwise arid desert of the Arctic.
