Cumulus cloud tower. The vertical development of a steep-sided tower in a cumulus cloud. This type of cloud has a typical "cotton wool" appearance,with rounded tops. Although cumulus cloud is classed as low-altitude (the flat base is usually only a few hundred metres from the ground) the top of this type of cloud may reach an altitude of up to 6km.
