| Polymorphic eruption of pregnancy. Chest of a pregnant woman with polymorphic eruption of pregnancy (PEP). Also known as pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP) and toxemic rash of pregnancy. This condition is a chronic itchy rash with wheals and papules that affects some women during pregnancy. Treatment is with topical moisturisers and,in more severe cases,corticosteroids. Most PUPPP cases resolve within a week of delivery,but a few do continue postnatally | |
