Metoject chemotherapy drug solution for injection. The active ingredient in Metoject is methotrexate (amethopterin or MTX). It used to treat various cancers: breast,head,neck,leukaemia,lymphoma,lung,osteosarcoma,bladder and trophoblastic neoplasms. It is also used for autoimmune diseases,ectopic pregnancy and for the induction of abortions. This antimetabolite and folate inhibitor is a cytotoxic drug because it interferes with the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) genetic material in cancer cells,causing cell death
