| Car engine and magneto. Historical illustration of a Hotchkiss car engine and a magneto (lower left) used to ignite the engine. Known as an ignition magneto (see C023/5307),it provides pulses of high voltage for the engine spark plugs. This magneto design is from the Lavalette-Eiseman company. Hotchkiss were French cars made between 1903 and 1955 in Paris.
