Follicular lymphoma (red tissue) is a common type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, making up around 1 in 3 of all lymphomas. Follicular lymphoma is a slow growing type of NHL which responds very well to treatment, but can rarely be cured. Despite the fact that it cannot be cured, the prognosis is generally very good and the median survival is about 8-15 years. It is a cancer of the B-cells. It nearly always affects adults, and the average age at diagnosis is 60. It's slightly more common in women. Magnification: x 80 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue | |
