An organised haematoma seen on the shin of a 90 year old female patient. The haematoma resulted from a minor blunt trauma. A haematoma is caused by the escape of blood from ruptured underlying vessels. In this case the blood has collected under the skin and clotted,and is developing fibrous tissue content and new blood vessel growth ('organisation' of the haematoma) | |
