Smithsonite. This mineral is a form of zinc carbonate, and is also called zinc-spar. Pure smithsonite is white. The presence of copper impurities turns the mineral green/blue,while traces of cadmium result in a yellow colour. This specimen is unusual in that it has well developed crystals.
