The Rietveld Schroder House in Utrecht was built in 1924 by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld,as commissioned by Mrs. Truus Schroder-Schrader. She wished the house to be designed without walls. The house is one of the best known examples of De Stijl-architecture practiced during the inter-bellum years of last century. It was restored by Bertus Mulder in 1975 and is a listed monument since 1976. Since 2000 it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is now a museum open for visits | |
