Green algae on a timber gate. It is particulary found on surfaces in cool, damp amd shady environments. Though often considered to visually enhance garden woodwork with a mature and weathered appearance,it can shorten its life span by retaining water on the surface which,if it freezes, could cause splits in the timber and can also induce mould. Can be chemically or mechanically removed | |
