Comet P/2013 CU129 (Pan-STARRS). Comets are bodies of ice and dust that enter the inner solar system from the outer solar system. As they approach the Sun,the heat boils the ice, producing a coma around the nucleus, along with a tail stretching out behind it. Comet P/2013 CU129 was discovered on 13 February 2013 by the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope on Haleakala,Hawaii. It passed perihelion in early August and faded away by mid-September.
